Paramount silencing portions of Indiana Jones in theaters?

Adrian McCarthy says:

While at the cinema yesterday, I read a notice posted by the box office that Paramount has intentionally silenced bits of the soundtrack of _Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull_ in order to deter and track piracy. The notice acknowledged that the momentary silences were annoying but that it was out of their control. Basically it said, please don't bug the manager if the sound drops out, unless it lasts more than a minute.

I searched this morning, but I can't find any mention of this on the web. I was going to snap a picture of the notice to post on my blog, but my cell phone battery had died--and I probably would have been chased off by a security guard.

Blanking out chunks of audio seems a rather crude way of watermarking the film. Once again, it's the paying customers who suffer.

For reference, it was the Regal Cinema at Hacienda Crossing in Dublin, California. I was there to see Speed Racer in IMAX, so I didn't directly witness tampering with Indiana Jones.

And I thought it was only in northern New Jersey that you had to worry about this stuff.  But then maybe this was one of Disney's Country Bears on vacation from the Magic Kingdom. With the cost of gas, he was just vacationing local this year.

Welcome to Monday continued

Seems like old times today. Weather is like it was in Florida when a tropical storm would pass over. The trees outside my office window are at an angle with each wind gust.  The rain is coming down in sheets.  Then all goes quiet for a while and then starts all over.  The power has flickered several times so far (I'm on UPS for everything in my office).  Nice having a window to see what is going for a change, as I haven't had one most of my working life.  Roads are flooded through out the state and all the major roads are speed restricted for the wind.  There is talk of stopping trucks and high profile vehicles on the Parkway and Turnpike.  This to will pass and spring will return.  I look at this as just a heavy spring rain and at least my job is indoors where I am warm and dry.

Welcome to Monday

Crossing the Delaware

This is the bridge that I cross everyday on the to my onsite project in Bucks County PA. This time though was after our Special Day Assembly for dinner at The Lambertville Station. Its a converted train station that now serves fine food. Dinner was wonderful.
