814 AM EDT FRI MAR 20 2009 ...FLURRIES AND SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED FLURRIES AND SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS, MAINLY NEAR AND EAST OF THE TURNPIKE CORRIDOR, MOVING EAST ACROSS EAST CENTRAL NEW JERSEY EARLY THIS MORNING. SOME OF THE SNOW SHOWERS WERE REDUCING THE VISIBILITY BELOW ONE MILE AND WERE CAUSING A DUSTING OF SNOW ON GRASSY AREAS. ROADS WERE BECOMING SLIPPERY WITH THE MELTED SNOW. WINDS IN THE SNOW SHOWERS WERE GUSTING UP TO AROUND 25 MPH, AND THAT COMPOUNDED VISIBILITY PROBLEMS. MOTORISTS THIS MORNING SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL IF THEY ENCOUNTER ONE OF THE STRONGER SNOW SHOWERS. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY AND LEAVE AS MUCH ROOM AS YOU CAN BETWEEN YOURSELF AND OTHERS. THE ACTIVITY WILL MOVE ACROSS THE STATE DURING THE MORNING RUSH HOUR AND EXIT BY MID-MORNING.
